I just won quite a bit of money in a screenplay contest. I have been writing in Los Angeles for almost 10 years now and I have never won a screenplay contest until now. I have entered this particular contest every year since I moved into the city and I almost did not enter this year. I was just about to give up on my dreams when I won this contest. I did not win a pot of money but I definitely want enough to pay the rent for the entire month. I was telling my wife how happy I was and it looked like she was kind of sad. She thought that I was finally going to give up my silly dream and get a real job. But now I feel completely validated and I do not think I’m ever going to give up. I really love writing and I cannot imagine what I would do if I could not write anymore.
